1. What we collect, and why

Everything below exists to run a specific part of Iraada. If we ask for it, here is exactly what it is for.

To create your account

• Email — how you sign in, and how we reach you about your account.
• Password — stored only as a one-way hash. We can’t read it back, and neither can anyone who breaks in.

For your profile

• First name, birth year, gender, who you’re interested in — confirms you’re old enough to be here (21+) and who we should be showing you.
• Languages — so Discover shows you people you could actually talk to.
• Your area, if you want to give one — a part of NCR you pick yourself, as vague as you like. It goes on your profile. “Rather not say” is a real option and simply reads as “Delhi NCR”.
• Height, relationship timeline, value tags, lifestyle answers — the honesty Iraada runs on. Height goes on your profile; it never becomes a filter.
• Prompt answers and photos — the substance of a profile. A few honest answers, real photos, nothing staged.

To confirm you’re real

• A live verification selfie — checked against your photos and a pose we ask for on the spot. A person on our side reviews it, approves or rejects it, then we delete it. Every time, whatever the outcome.
• A phone number, only if phone verification is switched on for your account — it exists to stop one person running two accounts, and it is never shown to anyone, including your matches.

To confirm you’re in Delhi-NCR

Iraada is Delhi-NCR only, and we check that from your phone rather than from a dropdown — a city you can type is a city you can lie about. Here is the whole of what that means.

• Your location, once, when you join — your browser asks you first, and nothing happens unless you say yes. We check it against the Delhi-NCR boundary on our own server: no maps service, no third party, no API key. Nobody outside Iraada ever receives it.
• What we actually keep — a rounded-off coordinate, blunt to about a kilometre, plus the name of the area it fell in. Not your street, not your building. We round it before we save it, so the precise version never exists here at all.
• Who sees it: nobody — it is not on your profile, not in anything we send another member’s app, and not on any map, because there is no map. It is never turned into a distance from anyone. Other members see the area you chose to display, and that is the only place your neighbourhood appears anywhere.
• The quiet re-check — if you’ve already granted permission, the app looks again about once a day to keep the community local. It never asks twice, never interrupts you, and never shows you anything. Travelling is fine: being outside NCR doesn’t log you out, hide you, or close your account. After a couple of weeks away it puts your name on a list a person reads, and that is the entire consequence.

While you use the app

• Letters, likes, and passes — the mechanics of how Iraada works.
• Reports and blocks — so we can act on them and keep an honest record of what happened.

2. What we never ask for

No salary. No caste. No access to your contacts. These are not buried in fine print somewhere; they are fields that simply do not exist in our database. Filtering people by money, background, or looks is exactly what Iraada was built against — we are not going to quietly collect the ingredients for it.

And no location tracking. We are careful with that word, because we do ask for your location — so here is the difference, plainly. Tracking is a trail: a history of where you’ve been, kept and replayed. We don’t have one. We hold a single blunt coordinate, we overwrite it rather than keep a list, and it answers exactly one question — are you in Delhi-NCR. Nobody is followed around, nobody’s movements are logged, and no member is ever shown where another one is.

3. How we store and protect it

Everything lives in MongoDB Atlas, a cloud database, on a site hosted by Vercel. Your password is hashed one-way before it is ever saved, so what we store cannot be reversed back into your actual password. Verification selfies are the one thing we deliberately do not keep — captured live, reviewed by a person, deleted right after, whether you are approved or not. Access to the database and our admin tools is limited to the small team running Iraada, and only for moderation, safety, and support.

4. Who we share it with

Nobody. We do not sell your data, and we do not run ads or third-party trackers on Iraada. We do count page views, using Vercel’s own analytics — no cookies, no advertising network, and no identifier that follows you off this site. It tells us which pages get used. It never tells us who used them. The only outside parties involved at all are the infrastructure we run on — Vercel for hosting and those page counts, MongoDB Atlas for the database. They process data on our behalf, under standard hosting agreements, never for their own purposes.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. Want it gone sooner? Email us and we will delete your account and the data attached to it. There is no self-serve delete button yet, so a person on our team does it by hand — which means it is not instant, but it does happen. Verification selfies do not wait for that request; they are deleted right after review, always.

6. Your rights

You can ask what we hold on you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — write to hello@iraada.app for any of it. That inbox is newly set up, so bear with us if a reply takes a few days. India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 is phasing in as we build; we intend to meet it as it takes effect, and the same address is where any grievance under it should go.

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so — in the app, or by email, not just by quietly editing this page. The date below is always the current version.
